Family correspondence and other papers of the Turner, Souther, and Van Nostrund families, 1854-1912. Van Nostrund and Souther family papers include school attendance records of Ellen Van Nostrund (later Souther), 1854, and letters received by Ellen from her grandmother Elizabeth Van Nostrund, 1850s-70s, and her mother, father William J., 1860s, and sister Sarah, 1860s-70s. Also, a few receipts and business letters of the Souther Brewing Company of Roxbury, Mass., 1901-12. Turner family papers include correspondence between Boston, Mass. artist Charles Henry Turner and his wife Elise, 1870s; painting notebooks of Charles listing colors used in artwork; and letters sent by Henry W. Turner to his wife Harriet and daughter Hattie while at the Taunton Lunatic Hospital, 1877. Collection also includes an unidentified household account book, 1874-81; an unidentified diary detailing social engagements, dinner parties, household work and gardening, 1904-06; and Turner family genealogical information.
